A Partial Listing of Our Clients
Selecting The Right NewspaperOne of the choices Unclaimed Property Administrators face is deciding what newspaper to advertise in? Are you required to select the newspaper with the largest circulation regardless of price? Is there a list of eligible newspapers to choose from? Are you limited to daily newspapers? The Handbook for Reporters of Unclaimed Funds, published by the New York State Office of the Comptroller provides an answer - although possibly not the answer you would suspect. The Handbook contains a link to a County-by-County list of "Newspapers Available for Notice Publications". At first glance, this appears to be a list of eligible papers to choose from, but that is not the case. Rather, the handbook states (emphasis added by us) "The following is a partial listing of newspapers by county. Any newspaper distributed in the county where you must advertise is acceptable. It doesn't have to be in the following listing." In other words, you have total freedom to place your ad in the largest-circulating paper in the county or the smallest. Or something in between. At Unclaimed Property NY our job is to provide you with accurate, unbiased data that will enable you select the newspaper that best suits your needs. Then we negotiate with that newspaper to drive their rate as low as possible. |
